So my sister, who lives on the kankakee river in kankakee illinois, was steaming mushrooms or something stupid like that, in  a stock pot, she got involved with watching some nascar special on tv, and completely forgot about the steam pot.  She finally remembered it and ran into the kitchen, all the water had boiled off, so ,my sister being the geinius she is (shes a good kid though) took a pitcher of water and poured it into the pot, releasing a giant ploom of steam that set of the way too dam sensetive fire alarm hooked into the alarm company.  They tried to call the house but because the fire alarm was going off, it cut off the phone for whatever reason.  So my sister turned the stove off and decided to go to the store, as she was pulling out of her driveway, she was blocked by the aroma park fire department.... THE ENTIRE DEPARTMENT!!!! She explained the story and they informed her that they still had to clear the residence, so here is a whole department sitting in the driveway and one of the firefighters is talking on the radio and says "hey toby is calling the department, thats her niece.  Toby would be my aunt, she owns two newspapers in the area and the last name is well known in the area, there was not a dry eye on the driveway, all the firemen promptly started busting out laughing, it was bad that they had to be called because of something stupid, but they got a gooooood laugh out of it, when getting all the details, the ff taking the information said he needed her last name just for the record, she said "you know my last name, do i really need to say it in front of everybody?"  he said "yes, maybe you will get embarassed enough not to do something like this again"  I dam near dropped the phone i was laughing so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!  my poor aunt is soooooo embarassed

lol....so true..

LOL, that is one story that will take years to die if ever.

At least she was still there when they arrived instead of her coming home to a busted down door.

Phil, That is so funny.  I imagine it wasn't for your aunt, but it was still funny.  And glad she didn't get burned or anything bad.
