| Posted 3 months ago im not sure about your area, but in my town, i am going for starting out as poc, and then testing for full time, they only require an emt-b cert aside from the regular stuff, but ive talked with the chief about my plans and told him i was going for the emt-b, then the fire science degree, and the emt-p, he said they dont require the fire science degree, but it makes a candidate look alot better and gets them more points in the interview and testing process. just my two cents, but take into account im still a nobody in the firefighting world for now, this is just my personal experiences, it may be different in your area. |

| Posted 2 months ago education is always good and it can help you on your way. scottfireman all you have to do is check into what the requirements are for the full time position but, like I said the more education that you have when starting out can only help you on your way. |
