I wanted to address the issue of "Colored Blindness" as a reason to deny a person entry

into Fire Fighting.  This is after he became a Graduate, but was advised he coulnd't sit

for the test.  It is on the application for entry to the unit.  But, is this standard?  The reason

I say this, is because I am color blind (red-green) and I have only had trouble in the Aviation

ratings in the Navy.  There is a reason for that, but what is the reason for it in Fire Fighting?

I know it is not standard on all application requests.

thanks and be safe;.

I wouldn't call it standard. I work with several color blind FF and medics. Never had a problem.
