To All,


Im working to take the bull by the horns and develop a recruitement and retention program.  Overall goes is to present an Volunteer Program overhaul program to my administration.   We are a split deparment and our Volunteer ranks are dwindling.  Most of the focus is on the district as a whole and the paid crews.


To remendy this as mentioned above Im working to develop a new program.  Brinding volunteers into more of the managment role over our own and help our Admin and volunteer ranks


Im asking for anyone that has a solid volunteer program built - or pieces you feel are strong that might help.  Recruitement programs, retenetion policies or award systems etc.  Anything that can help.

I’m just getting started on the same thing but only with all Vollies. I’ve just started to do some ground work for a regional SAFERS grant for next year. I’m meeting next week with an advertising firm, trying to contact insurance companies and almost done with our first ever Awards Day. I’ll be glad to pass on what I can as I go through New Adventure.

 

How in the hell do I get myself into these messes?

LOL  Im thinking the same thing, between responding, working as plans chief for our Volunteer Recruit academy and the summer from hell here in California...... 


What am I getting myself into...  My goal is to present a more formalized program to our Training Chief who is in charge of the volunteer program. 


Appreciate any input you can give.
