Posted 4 months ago I RECENTLY HEARD ABOUT A NEW GANG INITATION. AS A TEST OF COURAGE AND WIT'S THEY ARE NOW BURNING DOWN ABANDON HOUSES AS A RITE OF PASSAGE. NEXT THING YOU KNOW THEY WILL ALSO BE SETTING TRAPS FOR FIREFIGHTERS. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. IN INDIANA WE RECENTLY HAD TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS AND A FIREFIGHTER SHOT WHILE AT AN ABANDON HOUSE FIRE...THINK BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE TRUCK!! It's not what you don't know. | Posted 4 months ago What's next, like a abandoned building isn't a death trap as it is. In Winnipeg (closest largest city) abandoned build fires is a issue, especially large builds that have had multiple calls to them. Just a point of no respect from people today, I mean the few that disregard the value of life. We all have family and freinds to go home to as well. what are we targets now. Sorry for the rant, some people just pi$$ me off to no end. As soon as an EMS Rule is accepted as absolute, an exception to that Rule will immediately occur.

| Posted 4 months ago It's getting crazy out there again. The last few we have seen FF's and LEO's become the target of shooters and fire bugs. But what can we do??? Nothing...unless the laws that are used to arrest these crazy a**h**** gets strictly enforced at the court level. It's so easy these days to kill someone and do very little time or if some stupid technicality exists they get off with a hand slap or nothing. All I can say is...we all want to go home safe and to our families, so be careful. Take an extra look around before exiting the cars and trucks.

Do you mean to say that you are not wearing body armor? EMS and Firefighters, along with LE have been targets for years. Secondary devices and tactics are used for the explicit purpose of hurting and killing those responding to the initial incident. Personal Protection is just that... "personal" - BE SAFE -don't wait for it to be mandated for that extra level of protection. It is a shame, but in today's world we need that extra protection. Body armor provides protection for more than just bullets. Most modern body armor manufactures, Second Chance, Point Blank, Safariland, & Protech for example, offer a wide variety of designer colors and levels of protection. All makes and models of body armor will help ensure you go home after the shift has ended. With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. |
