    Being a flight medic was my goal... it only took 7 years (3 yrs as EMT and 4 yrs after Medic). There was also 6 applications given out. I was actually hired by 2 flight services, worked for both for 3 yrs until NYS changed their protocols - NY vs PA became to different... it was getting confusing. At the time I was working for 2 ground services - each had an MICU system and then the helos - that was 6 different protocols.... Now just 1 ground and 1 flight (2 protocols). Go for the goal, 1 flight and you'll be hooked...I was. I'm currently trying to get the funding together to be a pilot. mn
