I enter the fire service Sept.17 1975 in a city volunteer dept.,I left my 1st. Dept. in 1993 as the training officer Lieut. to become Assit.Chief in a county Fire/Rescue dept.were I volunteered for two and half years, then I moved to another town, and was voted onto the dept. I serve with now as Captain team leader/ training officer, a month ago I was appionted to assure the Jr. firefighters advisor job I Love it, I have been working with & instructing them off & on for about two years as a member of advisors board. They will keep you on your toes, I enjoy the look on their faces when they learn something new.Our young people run from the ripe old age of 14 to 18 lol, they must keep a grade avg.of C, they work side by side with the Firefighter on truck maintenance twice a week, they are allow to sit in on fire dept meeting twice a month, they also train with the fire fighters twice a month, the only training off limits to them is anything to do with power tools & live burn training, Their program has been embraced by the city and the members of the Fire Dept.Well gang I better get back to work.
